We look at how to build sites and applications with the universal web in mind, using techniques like mobile-first, adaptive, and responsive web design. Starting with fluid layouts and relative font-sizing, then fluid grids, we cover how to convert a static layout into a flexible one. Then, to lead the way into Adaptive design, we introduce break points and CSS media queries. Exploring the Mobile First approach, we look into advanced media queries, and tie it all together with Responsive layouts. Finally, we learn how to adapt media to different layouts and resolutions thanks to responsive and retina images.
